The Year After: Season 3

Originally hosted as an online exhibition for, The Year After: Season 3 consists of seven short films, each under five minutes in length. The films focus on working in customer service – more specifically at a gay film festival – and the daily interactions, conflicts, and drama that come from a job. Each episode portrays a series of characters made from cardboard boxes and everyday materials. In each scene these idiosyncratic characters encounter minor occurrences that are exasperated by the banality of the everyday activity that surrounds them. Pescador performs as well as animates each of the puppets, shifting back and forth between voices and characters.

The Year After: Season 3 is presented in chronological order, mimicking the repetitive structure of sitcom television. Within this format, conflicts occur and are resolved by the end of each episode, providing a sense of humor and comfort in their familiarity.
